His commitment to no lecturing, no upselling, and no unnecessary discussions puts the power firmly in your hands. Dr. C acts as a resource at your disposal, helping you make informed decisions about your care.
Background and Accomplishments
Dr. Cholewa earned his BA and DDS from Creighton University before serving as a dentist in the U.S. Army. After practicing dentistry for a few years for U.S. soldiers and NATO allies, Dr. C moved to San Antonio, where he served as Chief of Staff to the Commander of the Army Dental Corps. His military background instills a disciplined, precise approach to dentistry, while his focus on communication and transparency ensures that his patients always feel informed and in control of their dental care.
When their first son was born, Dr. Riley and Dr. Jim knew it was time to return to Des Moines. Coming home meant being close to family and raising their children as part of the unparalleled community they both love.
Dr. Riley especially enjoys fabricating dentures and helping patients who are missing teeth. She loves the opportunity to restore smiles, improve confidence, and help patients feel like themselves again. She is excited to be practicing alongside Dr. C.

Riley Cholewa, DDS
Dr. Riley Cholewa grew up right here in Beaverdale and is thrilled to be back home serving the community that helped shape her. She attended Creighton University in Omaha for both her undergraduate studies and dental school.
After dental school, Dr. Riley married Dr. Jim Cholewa and began an adventure that took their family around the world. Along the way, she practiced dentistry in Omaha, earned a German dental license and practiced in Landstuhl, Germany, and later continued her career in San Antonio, Texas.
